Info Tech, Inc. announces integration between the Appia service and the Mobile Inspector app

GAINESVILLE, FL – August 3, 2015 Info Tech, Inc. announced today that its Appia service for construction administration and inspection now integrates with the Mobile Inspector app for construction field inspection. This integration allows for offline field data collection on a tablet or smartphone.

While the Appia service itself is mobile accessible, using the Mobile Inspector app resolves the issue of offline data collection. This can be an issue for field inspectors working in remote areas with no or intermittent connectivity. When the Mobile Inspector app is used, the end-user does not have to worry about connectivity since the app allows the inspector to enter his/her daily report information offline and then uploads the data when connected.

"As the use of mobile apps in road and bridge construction continues to grow, we want to be sure Info Tech has offerings to fit any type of project," said Dr. Thomas P. Rothrock, Info Tech President. "Connectivity can be an issue, but with the combination of the Appia service and the Mobile Inspector app, end-users can focus on their job and not connection issues."

The Mobile Inspector app lets field inspectors collect the data required for a daily report, including item progress, contractor work force, photos and site conditions, all with just a few clicks. The data feeds to a construction management system, such as the Appia service, the FieldManager software and others.

"This replaces a paper-based process that was inconvenient and error-prone," said Dr. Rothrock.

The Mobile Inspector app is available for as a free download in the Apple App store and in Google Play. The Appia service is available from Info Tech, Inc. and can be licensed on a per-project basis.
