Jim’s All Employees Email

After the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020, Jim McClave emailed all employees with a reflection that crossed a gamut of emotions sharing, “Frankly, I am at a loss for words to describe my feelings of anger, frustration, and embarrassment regarding the killing of George Floyd and, more generally, the continued racial inequity in our country. Saying and doing nothing, however, is unacceptable. As a company, I think we have an obligation to do more.”

[Reverse] Employee Town Hall

Infotech hosted our first Reverse Town Hall to provide a forum for Infotech’s Black/African-American family members to share their viewpoints and, poignantly, their personal experiences with racism and discrimination.

The issue featured new opportunities for growth and development in the DE&I space, including the introduction of Infotech’s Day of Educational Investment and our strengthened philanthropic focus on the East Gainesville community.

This special meeting provided an opportunity to ask questions, listen and learn from our Black/African-American family members.

Allyship in Action Training

All Infotech employees completed a LinkedIn Learning Course that provided skills and tactics for inclusive conversations with our Infotech family members.

CDI Recruitment Begins

Newly formed, the Committee for Diversity and Inclusion launched recruitment efforts in August 2020 and featured the opportunity in the August Crane.

Floating Holiday Announced

To make it easier for employees to celebrate the days most meaningful to them, Infotech introduced the Floating Holiday for 2021. The new benefit was officially announced in the September Crane.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

The CDI asked Infotechers to share what this observance meant to them. We heard personal anecdotes, favorite recipes, family or cultural traditions and oral histories handed down across generations.

New Trainings and Processes

This included Compassionate Communication and Transgender & Nonbinary Training. The process to add pronouns to UltiPro, Zoom, Slack and email began.

Workshops and Celebrations

Employees participated in a D&I Workshop and Community Conversations for Inclusive Excellence. A Kwanzaa presentation was created to celebrate and educate on the holiday.

Gender Neutral Bathrooms

CDI and leadership began discussions to build and introduce Gender Neutral bathrooms at Infotech HQ.

Events included History of Racial Violence in Florida, African-American Professionals in Gainesville and Soulful Cooking with Pat.
